1099-MISC & 1099-NEC Filing Deadlines

Happy New Year!  We hope that you were able to enjoy the holidays. Here at Martin Hood we are already thinking about upcoming filing deadlines that may affect you. The filing deadline for providing a Form 1099-MISC (for reporting rent, other income, and royalties to name a few) and a Form 1099-NEC (for reporting nonemployee compensation) to recipients is January 31st, which will soon be upon us. Most businesses make payments that require a Form 1099-MISC or Form 1099-NEC to be filed. If you would like us to prepare the Form 1099-MISC or Form 1099-NEC for you, we will need the following submitted to us:

  • Recipient Name
  • Recipient Address
  • Recipient Social Security or FEIN number
  • Amount paid to the recipient during 2021
  • Indication of whether the payments were for rent, nonemployee compensation, royalties, or other income.

If you have already submitted your information for preparation, thank you. If you have any question related to filing the forms, please do not hesitate to contact us.
